Past Community Co-lead, Community-Based Organization Tools Working Group
Kate Garvie was a community co-lead for CFICE’s Tools Working Group. She is the Admin and Communications Coordinator for Deep Roots Food Hub, a rapidly growing organization in West Carleton that is committed to creating a resilient and equitable local food system. Previously, Kate was helping run a Community Supported Agriculture market garden near Campbellford, Ontario, and she still loves to get her hands dirty as often as possible.
Kate’s interest in community-led development comes out of her undergraduate degree in International Development at Trent University and lessons learned during her Master’s in Environmental Studies at the University of Victoria. She worked with Natasha Pei and Adje Van de Sande on the tools working group during its planning phase.
