|Degrees:||Bachelor of Arts Combined Honours Major in English and History (June 2020)|
What is your favourite thing about the program?
Even though I decided to turn my English major into a double major in English and History later into my degree, I still felt welcome in the History program. Because I studied abroad in Edinburgh in my third year, I did not take as many History courses at Carleton as I would have liked, but I really enjoyed the courses I did take at both universities.
What will you miss the most?
I will miss getting into debates in class and trying to carry 10 books on Marie Antoinette home from the library on my bike for a research project.
What is your favourite reading/book/text from the program?
My favourite classes were 2nd year History of Japan and 4th year seminar on the French Revolution, so my favourite readings were the texts we read in those classes. I especially enjoyed reading about the history of pamphlet culture in revolutionary France.
What’s next for you?
Next up is an MA in English, which I start at McGill University this Fall. Who knows what will come after!
